What is the Zero Interaction feature? 

Zero Interaction is an additional feature to the Size Advisor that enables automatic recommendations to returning shoppers based on a previously made purchase(s) they placed on your webshop. Zero Interaction instructs the Size Advisor on the previously purchased model, size and whether they kept it and uses that reference model to calculate a recommendation for the model on the product page they are on. This means that these customers will never have to go through the Size Advisor user interface again to get a recommendation. Every time they enter a new product page, their recommended size will already be displayed in the Size Advisor button. If they click and open the Size Advisor, they will automatically be taken to the recommendation page and information will be displayed telling them the size they are recommended in and that it is based on a previous purchase(s); listing them all for the shopper to see.

A last purchased shoe is only counted as kept after 30 days of the purchase. ShoeSize.Me applies several algorithms to ensure that a recommendation is given to shoppers only that do not share an shop account over several people.

IMPORTANT: A shopper can at any point get a new recommendation by clicking on the Size Advisor button and selecting "Not me. Start again".

 

What are the benefits of the Zero Interaction Feature? 

The uplift we typically see from the implementation of this feature is orders placed in the correct size will be 2-3x higher, which translates in a higher return reduction. Additionally, we see the incremental net revenue double after implementation. 

 

What's required to implement the Zero Interaction Feature?

The following 3 things are required in order to set up the zero interaction feature and to test that it is functioning correctly.

  1. Confirm all obligatory steps have been completed for the Size Advisor Onboarding 
  2. Implement Zero Interaction for logged in users by integrating the necessary JavaScript
  3. Testing Zero Interaction (once steps 1 and 2 are completed)

 

1. Confirm all obligatory steps for the Size Advisor Onboarding have been completed and ensure you are sending the necessary Purchase & Returns data points

All steps in the Size Advisor Onboarding instructions will need to be completed prior to integrating this feature. Have a look at the Purchase & Returns instructions in particular and make sure the necessary data points are being shared for this feature to work. The key data point and identifier which is important for Zero Interaction is Customer ID and/or Hashed Email. This data point will be used to recognize your logged in shoppers/users for Zero Interaction. The identifier used for Zero Interaction can be your internal Customer ID, or an MP5 hashed email.

2. Implement Zero Interaction for logged in users by integrating the necessary JavaScript

There are two ways of implementing zero interaction with ShoeSize.Me; a Plain Value Method and a Cookie Method. Both of these methods and the necessary steps for integration are explained below:

Plain Value Method
This method can be used whether you use cookies to store customer ID information or not and is the easiest most standard method of implementation.  When loading the Product Script add an additional value called zeroHash to it. It should contain the Customer ID or Hashed Email you provided us in the Purchase & Returns. If this variable is present, our plugin will automatically try to find a recommendation for that ID. Take the script below and as you can see, you only need to add the zeroHash to the string and then provide us with your customer_id value for your logged in user. That's it!

Cookie Method

This implementation is easier if you are already using a cookie storing your customers_id. ShoeSize.Me will then get the customer_id from the cookie you provided us the name for.
It works very similarly to the Plain Value Method but instead of providing us the customer_id directly, you provide us the name of the cookie holding the customer_id. Take the script below and replace cookieName with the actual cookie name and you will then be ready for Zero Interaction.

3. Testing Zero Interaction (once steps 1 and 2 are completed)

  1. Please confirm with the ShoeSize.Me Onboarding Team that 1) we are receiving Purchase & Returns and that this data is being imported regularly and 2) confirm which method and Customer ID (Internal ID or Hashed Email) you are using to implement this feature. 
  2. Taking an example of a user from this confirmed imported Purchase & Returns data, log in as a user and open a product page where the Size Advisor plugin has been implemented on your website. If you provided all data for this shoe and the Purchase & Return data is imported, our button should automatically give you a recommendation. There is no user interaction needed to get a recommendation now. When you click the Size Advisor button and open, you will see on the recommendation that your size recommendation is based on a previous purchase or list of previous purchases made under that customers ID. Additionally, a user can open the plugin and save his account with his already purchased shoe. In case the customer buys a new shoe, it will be directly added to his account and used for future recommendations.
